Description
Amsterdam School cabinet in oak and macassar.A charming cabinet designed and manufactured in Amsterdam School style. The expressive appearance due to different angles and thicknesses give it its own unique character. The basic design is symmetrical and actually only the macassar decoration on the top of the cabinet reveals some asymmetry. The macassar veneer can also be seen on the legs, which in their design seem to resemble hooves due to the round cut-out. It also creates the feeling that the cabinet is positioned slightly lighter on the floor. The doors have two round handles and the original glass is still in place. This partly determines the authentic feel of this item. Over the years, the wood has acquired a beautiful patina and the natural relief of the oak has become more 'filled', giving the wood even more depth. The condition of this cabinet is, depending on age and use, very good. There are minimal traces of use."
