Description
This Art Deco 2-door buffet/cabinet with cleaned designed lines was constructed in 1937 by Andre Arbus in solid Rosewood with a signed Androussov's Bronze Medalion lock of "The Head of the Méduse D'Androusov". This museum quality piece is documented on page 52 of the book "Le Mobilier Du XXe Siècle" by Pierre Kjellberg.
André Arbus was a French designer and architect known for his elegant yet functional furniture designs. He was heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement, and his designs reflect the sleek lines and geometric shapes associated with the style. Arbus created a variety of furniture pieces, including tables, chairs, cabinets and desks. He often used high quality materials like marble, brass, bronze and exotic woods, and his designs were characterized by his attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. His pieces continue to be sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. -
