Description
Very fine George III mahogany breakfront bookcase in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the architectural pediment having egg and dart with dentil molding over similarly treated frieze also featuring blind fret scrollwork in tall center section, the two flanking lower cases having blind fret quatrefoil and diamond pierced decoration, the glazed doors retaining mostly original glass and featuring a diamond point glazing pattern, the lower section having panel doors with rosette carving, the center section with adjustable shelving, the two flanking cabinets fitted with drawers retaining original hardware, standing on molded plinth base, the whole retaining a good rich color and patination.
