Authentic Dorothy Draper España Chest Lacquered in Pink & Gold circa 1955
-
Description
This chic three drawer España bunching chest by Dorothy Draper is without a doubt the most iconic piece of 20th century Hollywood Regency furniture. Sexy. Elegant. Whimsical. As popular today as they were in the 1950s, this newly professionally refinished España chest was lacquered in pink and gold with a mat finish. The incised gold accents give the illusion of multiple smaller drawers each with its own pull.
Unlike most other Mid Century Chests, Dorothy Draper España Chests have finished backs so they can float in rooms as a divider. Joan Crawford used a pair in her bedroom as nightstands. A pair was featured in Vogue Editor Candice Bergman's office in "Sex in the City". The design is timeless with functional storage and multiple options for placement making this España Chest a wonderful acquisition to enjoy for decades.
Buyers may select any color of choice for refinishing as well as finish - mat, satin or gloss. Brass pulls may be polished or left with natural patina. Lead time is 4 to 6 weeks for refinishing. -
