French 19th Century Bamboo & Decoupage Bookcase
-
Description
This English bamboo bookcase from the Aesthetic Movement of the late 1800s was given a creative update with recent decoupage and painted ebony finish. Schools of fish animate the exterior surfaces, their glowing honey color is a perfect match to the natural tone of the bamboo frame. Two fixed shelves with ebonized (painted) interior are an exciting backdrop for collectibles and curiosities in addition to books. The bottom drawer opens by turned-wood pulls for easy operation.
