French Louis XVI 18th Century Painted Two-Drawer Commode with Fluted Accents
-
Description
A French Louis XVI period painted two-drawer commode from the late 18th century, with fluted accents and bronze hardware. Born in France at the end of King Louis XVI's reign, this painted commode features a rectangular top sitting above two hand-cut dovetailed drawers. Each drawer is fitted with bronze hardware surrounded by geometrical motifs. The fluted side posts lead our eye to the tapered legs on which the commode is raised. Painted in a soft color complimenting the purity of the lines beautifully, this Louis XVI commode circa 1790 will bring a touch of French elegance to any living room or bedroom.
