Fine George III mahogany sideboard with shaped front, the top in vividly grained and richly patinated mahogany, over three banks of drawers, the center drawer over arched knee hole, the left side with two shallow drawers, the right side resembling the left, but actually a single deep drawer to accommodate wine bottles, standing on square tapered legs with crossbanded collars above the feet, the whole with excellent color and patina. England, circa 1790.
Provenance: Ex. Collection of George Crossan Seybolt, CEO of Underwood and President of the Boston Museum. President Jimmy Carter appointed him the first Chairman of the National Museum Services Board, an advisory group, and he was a founder of the Museum Trustees Association in Washington. -
