This elegant and minimal Pair of Mid-Century Modernist Bullet Form Nightstands in Hand-Rubbed & Book-matched Walnut are designed and signed by John Stuart, fabricated in the United States, Circa 1960. They feature a minimal bullet form profile with a lovely book-matched top surface, surrounded with incredibly handled joinery composing the gently contoured edge. The finishing is beautifully achieved, with a semi-gloss finish on the top surface, creating a subtle but rewarding contrast between the reserved hand-rubbed finish on the body of the piece. The front is composed of two drawers with an beautifully carved & inset split drawer pull. The drawer pull mirrors the bullet form profile of the piece and creates a cohesive sense of proportion while remaining highly usable. Each nigh-stand contains the original stamped signature denoting the maker on the back panel. These nightstands are truly gems, exemplifying the minimal and geometric sensibility of Mid-Century Modernist design and are precisely executed in the highest quality materials.
