Description
A Swedish Gustavian period wooden sideboard from the late 18th century with original paint and distressed patina. Created in Sweden during the Gustavian era, this sideboard features a rectangular slightly raised top sitting above a discreet egg-and-dart carved molding. Two dovetailed drawers, fitted with brass ribbon-tied garland-themed escutcheons, sit above two doors carved with reeded panels and rosettes. These doors open to reveal inner shelves offering convenient storage opportunities. Raised on four block feet, the sideboard showcases its original soft colored paint with great distressing. With its clean lines, nice proportions and weathered patina, this Gustavian period painted wood Swedish sideboard circa 1780 will bring a touch of Classicism to any home, whether placed in a living room, kitchen or dining room.
