Unique, one-of-a-kind, two-door cabinet in exotic hardwood with solid cast brass bamboo frame, and black glass work-surface top, designed as a livingroom bar for the Kandell Penthouse apartment at the original Ritz Carlton on Park Ave. South.
This 1953 Robsjohn-Gibbings commission by the buildings owners, for their personal residence, included custom interiors with bespoke furniture designs for all rooms. The last photo, an interior still of the apartment, shows the cabinet in situ to. Finished on back. Retains original brass key. -

Documentation: Ample Provenance Origin: United States Period: 1950-1979 Materials: Brass, Hardwood, Veneer Condition: Good. The wood has been refinished. The brass has been left untouched and shows areas of dark and green oxidation. Brass can be professionally polished for an added fee. Glass top added later, and sits over laminate work surface.
