Description
19th century Chinese hardwood display table or stand
Chinese, 19th Century
Height 99cm, width 68cm, depth 31cm
This display table is a refined work crafted in the 19th Century of the Chinese Qing dynasty. It would serve as a beautiful ornament upon which to display plants, urns or other decorative items.
The table is formed with two hardwood tops of differing heights: the taller is square and the shorter rectangular. The tops are held within a rectangular form frame that has been carved to resemble bamboo, and the table features further intricate detailing in the form of scrolling patterns, running below the tops. -
