Newly polished and restored, "Eros" round pedestal table by Angelo Mangiarotti in Black ("Nero") Marquina Marble, circa 1970, Italy. The solid marble table features a center gravity joint invented by Mangiarotti where the weight of the marble top is inserted and fastens to the interior of the pedestal base. The iconic table is made from polished Black Marquina Marble, with veins of white. Black "Nero" Marquina marble is a high quality, black stone marble extracted from the region of Markina, Basque Country in the North of Spain. It is one of the most beautiful and important marbles from Spain. It has a fine and compact grain, black, with white veins. The marble on this midcentury table was recently polished to its original splendor in Italy prior to shipping to the showroom and is in perfect condition.
