Art Deco Desk in Bookmatched Amboyna and Burled Elm Desk with Cubist Detailing

  • Description
This elegant Art Deco cubist desk/ vanity was custom designed for Mr. Roger Sperry (American neuropsychologist, neurobiologist and Nobel laureate) and his wife in the United States in 1930 by the esteemed Henry Gercken. It features a bookmatched amboyna body with faceted corners composed of geometric cubist marquetry in amboyna and Carpathian elm. Additionally, the piece offers a black lacquer base and feet; conical black lacquer pulls; and lacquer detailing throughout.
