Description
This remarkable Art Deco Skyscraper Style Hand-rubbed Book-matched Walnut Pedestal w/ Brass Inlays originates from France circa 1935. Featuring a construction in solid walnut with a beautiful hand-rubbed finish, one can observe subtle strips of brass lining the top edge of the pedestal, as well as two additional bands of inset brass detailing on the lower third of the piece providing an excellent sense of scale and dynamic design characteristic of the Art Deco period. The sides of the pieces are adorned with skyscraper step detailing, achieve with remarkable precision and beautiful proportions. This detailing creates a strong directionality throughout the piece as well as adding a sense of stability and verticality. Perfect for use displaying vases, sculptures, or other decor, this piece will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors in settings from Art Deco to Mid-Century, Modernist and Contemporary spaces. In Mint Restored condition.
