Neko Coffee Table

The largest expression of the Neko series, this coffee table extends the collection's formal language to a generous oval plane. Over the brushed aluminum top, a thick cut plastic sheet shaped to the same oval protects the surface while giving it a liquid, mirror-like quality, the reflections shifting with light and movement.

Below, a base of interlocking aluminum sheets whose arched cutouts lend the structure its characteristic architectural presence, at once precise and monumental.

Set into the surface, a hand-fired raku ceramic bowl is inserted flush with the top, its aqua glaze luminous against the metal. The crackle and depth of the raku stands in quiet conversation with the exactitude of the aluminum: two very different ways of shaping matter, held together in a single plane.

At the base, ribbed aluminum sabots and leather pads finish the feet, grounding the piece with the same attention to material detail that defines the collection throughout.

Neko is an open edition work, hand-fabricated with natural variation in each ceramic element.
