Rare Italian Mid-Century Modern 'Arachnid' Coffee Table Attr. to Carlo Mollino

Description
Important Italian Prototype Cocktail table Attributed to Carlo Mollino carved from wood and gilt to resemble metal. The table legs and spine resemble an insect such as an arachnid / spider. While maintaining a distinct modern look and feel.
The work is a sculpture composed of four carved pieces of wood, each carved in a modern mechanical manner typical of Mollino the pieces are faceted together via solid brass studs to allow the pieces to intersect and form four legs and four top supports. An oval glass top completes the piece. -
