Carlo Ratti Dining Table in Wood and Metal, Italy, 1960's
-
Description
Elegant dining table with romantic steel base. The top has been lacquered and is quite shiny and in very good condition. The shape of the top is slightly tapered towards the sides. The frame is made of steel with some nice typical Carlo Ratti details in shiny brass at the feet. The legs are surrounded by three wooden planks that are nicely shaped. Somehow the appearance is quite musical but maybe that's just my opinion. The chairs are also by Carlo Ratti, 6 available and all restored (not part of this lot). Lots of new veneer inlays in the chairs which give them a nice circular look, almost like an old levi's 501 that has been repaired numerous times. Hours of restoration have gone into these chairs but the result is a set of 6 newly lacquered shiny pieces of art that work very well with the table.
