Description
Dade County Pine Sculptural Studio Dining Table, Ray Pirello Woodworking
Offered for sale is a custom-made studio-crafted reclaimed Miami-Dade County sculptural pine dining table by Ray Pirello in his Miami woodworking studios in Biscayne Park. This dense and heavy native Dade county pine was salvaged from a 1918 Coconut Grove Florida home on Emaltha Street. Chief Emaltha was the oldest of the Seminole tribe war chiefs from the era when Commodore Ralph Munroe (1851-1933) settled in Coconut Grove. The table was thus titled "The Chief Emaltha Table" in honor of its origins and the source of this beautiful and rare wood. The table is supported by a magnificent, layered base sculpture to resemble the cypress wood rising out of the wetlands of the Everglades. The table is signed and dated 2018 and it comfortably seats 8-10 people. The rich and beautiful grain of this 100+-year-old wood and the history of its South Florida origins make this a wonderful acquisition and a strong "statement" piece. -
