English 19th Century Solid Mahogany Server
-
Description
Incredible English mahogany server, or sideboard, dating to the 18th century, from a large country estate. A tall brass gallery railing along the back is capped with three, immaculate urn finials. Striking color adds dimension to the wood grain, the single-plank work surface is deep and bowed, carved to an elegant serpentine shape along the edges. Three drawers in the apron, animated by a flamed effect in the mahogany, are similarly bowed to follow the curvature of the top. A shared key will lock each drawer independently. Statuesque turned legs at each corner gracefully taper down in classic Sheraton style. Please view the detailed images. Ready to use after being cleaned and polished with a French paste wax.
