English Early 17th Century Charles I Oak Demi-lune Console Table
-
Description
Very similar to our previous listed Demi-lune Table, and could be used as its "Twin". This early English Oak Demi-Lune Console Table was made around the same time, ca. 1630, but shows slightly different design elements. The demi-lune shaped top above a plain frieze with restrained decoration of applied half-spindles, contains one drawer with a simple ring pull. The four slightly tapered, turned column legs are connected by supporting arcades (this table having small roundels at the center of the arches) and softly worn stretchers all around at the bottom.
