Description
Exceptional pair of demi-lune consoles by Ernst Kühn (1890-1948), having half-round top cases, each with two curved front drawers framed in brass and graciously weighty ring pulls, meticulously crafted in Cuban mahogany by Lysberg, Hansen & Therp, Denmark, circa 1940; Cabinetmaker’s metal label inside drawer.
Founded in 1841, Lysberg, Hansen & Therp (the firm’s official name 1933-2002, now simply “Lysberg”) maintained a reputation as one of Copenhagen’s most esteemed cabinetmakers through the 20th century. An official purveyor to the royal courts of Denmark and Sweden. its production was largely traditional in character, often featuring handsome mounts in ormolu or brass. - More Information
