This is a rare and important embossed copper and wood table designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1956 for the Price Tower and is one of only twenty examples ever made. The tables showcase the Japanese influence present throughout Wrights career and they were created specifically for the executive suites, the 16th floor commissary and Harold & Carolyn Price's private FLW Hillside residence. The table features origami-like, angular copper legs crafted in the same spirit as the building itself and retains its original verdigris patina just as the exterior panels of the Tower.
Price Tower is Frank Lloyd Wright's only realized skyscraper and continues to be one of the most compelling and inspiring projects of his 70 year career. The furniture he designed for this project was some of the most contemporary and futuristic pieces he ever made. The magic of these interior pieces is that they existed in fluid conversation with the building's exterior diminishing the boundary between the two.
We have a second matching table and two complementary stools available separately. Please Inquire.
