French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Demilune Console
-
Description
This elegant mahogany and marble demilune console from France, 19th century, is a fantastic addition to any space, as a console or even a small desserte table and bar. It is topped with an inset piece of white marble, surrounded by a pierced brass gallery. The paneled apron houses a single drawer in the middle, opened by ring pulls, with a working lock and key. Keyhole escutcheons to the left and right are purely decorative elements over the faux drawer fronts, matching the rhythm of the inset brass panels. Fluted legs, iconic of the Louis XVI style, taper gradually to the lower shelf which offers a concave front. Brass sabot feet are the final touch to really elevate the design. This wonderful accent table has gained a charming patina over the years, including a hairline crack in the stone, so please view the detailed images for a better look at its current condition. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior.
