French 19th Century Walnut Barley-Twist Writing Table

Description
This delightful walnut barley-twist writing table is from France, c.1840. The tongue-and-groove plank top rests above an apron outfitted with a single long drawer having a turned walnut pull and raised on exuberantly carved barley-twist legs and stretcher which is finished with a boldly turned central finial. Diminutive in proportion, this table will fit into any space and could also serve as a side table.
