Description
Gaetano Pesce, an influential Italian designer, was known for pushing boundaries in furniture design. His work combined art and function, often reflecting his bold approach to form and material. Over his long career, Pesce has collaborated with several design houses, bringing his unique vision to life in pieces that challenge conventional design.
Design
The "Triple Play" side table, produced by Fish Design in 2017, is a striking example of Pesce's creative output. Marked underneath with Nr. 24 / 2017, the table features a circular top made from black resin with an orange resin center and green accents. Three holes punctuate the surface, and with the arrangement of these elements, an abstract face can be seen, creating the effect of pareidolia. This playful, unintended resemblance adds a layer of visual intrigue. Supporting the tabletop are three legs, each composed of three thin metal rods connected at the base by black footings. The blend of materials and the abstract form are hallmarks of Pesce’s design language."Triple Play" exemplifies Gaetano Pesce's ability to merge artistic expression with functional design. The use of contrasting materials—metal and resin—along with the table’s minimalist yet quirky structure, makes it both a functional object and a piece of art.
Condition
The overall condition of this piece is good with slight discolorations, punctures and spots. These are carefully shown in the pictures. -
