Description
Pair of rare, Italian midcentury, hand-hammered wrought iron consoles / sofa tables by Florentine sculptor, Giovanni Banci in the modern neoclassical style.
The whole frame is sensuously hammered with sharp, bold marks resembling a brutalist treatment and feature hand hammered X-form stretchers in the form of the fleche of an arrow near the legs and tapering until they are united by a hammered central ring.
The wrought iron is delicately finished with a gilt surface and the tops are composed of grey Italian travertine.
