Good Late Regency Architects Drafting Table
-
Description
The rectangular top, ratcheted and with a removable folio bar that can be used in two positions above an interior well with recessed candle-arms, over a trestle base on original brass casters.
The table is manually adjustable in height as shown in the images, at ten different increments so it can used for multiple functions, desk, drafting table, folio stand and standing desk.
With the dawn of the industrial revolution and the Age of Enlightenment of the 18th century there was a fascination in England for metamorphic furniture that would display ingenuity, could satisfy multiple functions and most importantly would impress the viewer.
Interestingly the table still impresses.
