Italian neoclassical bleached walnut desk circa 1825-1845. 19th century walnut veneered desk with five drawers. Simple lines and squared legs in a simple Empire, or Biedermeier, style. Dry, pale bleached finish. Working locks with key. Leg clearance is 25 inches high x 19 inches wide. Locks and gilt repousse tole escutcheons appear original or very early. Some early patches and plug repairs to veneer.
