Description
This is an unusual example of a Jacobean Revival Library table that dates to the end of the 19th or early 20th century, The table is attributed to Waring and Gillow* and features eight beautifully turned barley twist legs joined by an Aesthetic Movement style stretcher. The expansive 72 inch wide top is framed by a wide skirt with open work carving detailed by scrolling leaves and winged cherubs. The table is in very good condition and has been recently refinished.
*The renown English furniture manufacturer, Gillows of Lancaster, joined with Waring in the very early 20th century due to financial difficulties. - More Information

Message from Seller:
MJH DESIGN ARTS expresses the broad decorative arts aesthetic of its principal, Mary Tindukasiri. Mary, having lived the majority of her life overseas--Mexico, Spain and Asia plus The East Coast and The South--brings these cultural influences to her carefully selected offerings. MJH DESIGN ARTS aims to offer objects incorporating great design, history, construction and life. Our aesthetic is constantly evolving and stretches from late 17th century furniture to 21st century lighting.
