Louis XV Transitional Side or Writing Table
-
Description
This is a charming petit end or writing table that dates to the transitional Louis XV period. The elegant, sinuous legs end in well-cast gilt bronze sabots; there is a single drawer at one end. The top appears to retain its original leather surface. The black lacquered surface is probably original; we have touched up and polished the lacquer and waxed the leather. Although the legs are slender and delicate they remain in their original good condition. Tables like this are multi-purpose--serving as a small writing table, bedside table or end table. Their sculptural form allows them to serve as pieces of art. Please contact us for additional photos and information.
