Description
Minimal and pure dining table, T88W, Wengé, Maarten Van Severen, own production, Belgium 1988
Important and limited edition dining table, only 5 or 6 were ever made by Maarten in his own workshop.
Comes with certificate and provenance.
The architecture displays the table in it's purest form, yet elegant and with the right proportions.
This table was only produced made to order with a choice between three finishes : oak, aluminum or the more exclusive wengé.
Maarten Van Severen (1956–2005) is one of the best-known contemporary Belgian designers. In the late eighties he started to create furniture in his own workshop in Gent. His designs are simple, clear and well thought-out. They reflect his quest for perfection in form, detail and execution. He prefers to call himself a maximalist – someone who unstintingly devotes all his energy and resources to achieving the desired result, even if that ultimately and perhaps inevitable appears Minimalist.
