Stunning and rare, this Il Colonnato dining table was designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina, circa 1977.
The stunning travertine top with it's ogee edge, is raised on three cylindrical columns with a slightly bulging profile.
The unique legs can be placed freely under the top. Each leg displaying unique cuts of the travertine.
The Il Colonnato series of tables were inspired by the Colonnades of ancient Rome.
Mario Bellini (born February 1, 1935, Milan) is an Italian architect and designer. He graduated from the Milan Polytechnic - Faculty of Architecture in 1959 and began working as an architect himself in the early 1960s.
This rare table was only in production for a few years, from 1977-1980.
Overall size: 47" diameter x 28.75" height.
Top only: 47" diameter x 1" height.
Individual column leg: 8" diameter x 27.75" height.
Each leg is 7.5" at the top and 8" at the bottom. -
