Pair of gilt metal gueridons with Meissen porcelain tops
Porcelain: German, 19th Century
Ormolu: French, 20th Century
Height 60cm, diameter 34.5cm
This pair of beautiful gueridons features Meissen porcelain tops and gilt metal frames. The Meissen porcelain chargers are mounted in the upper table surface and feature exceptionally beautifully executed vibrant floral designs in the Rococo style. Both are marked for the Meissen manufactory with blue crossed swords mark in underglaze on the reverse.
The gueridon frames are French, early 20th century and the legs on the tripod base terminate in intricately cast lion paw feet. Together, the Meissen porcelain tops and the gilt metal frames form a rare and beautiful decorative pair.
