Biography:
Michel Mangematin was a French designer and architect who produced a very limited range of furniture designs; a dining table, a coffee table and an armchair. He went to the USA in 1957 to study under Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe in their workshops. This period greatly inspired Mangematin and the legs of his designs are a nod of appreciation towards Van der Rohe’s Barcelona chair. The scarcity of Mangematin’s designs was probably due to his dedication to his architectural career as well as being a devoted teacher at Clermont Ferrand in France. -
