French Art Deco Style Shagreen and Ebony Coffee Table with Silver Sabots
-
Description
Art Deco style shagreen and ebony coffee table with silver Sabots in the manner of French designer Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann.
Art Deco style but with that delicate gentleness - that "je ne sais quoi" - that French Art Deco look that you know when you see. Striking curves emanate from petite silver sabots. Cabriole ebonized legs blossom into a textured Art Deco sunburst pattern of shagreen. Common during the Art Deco Period - and later incorporated by Karl Springer in 1970s designs - Shagreen was priced as luxurious and exotic. The hide of the day if you will. This table is a top five favorite for our shop. -
