The present coffee table is wrought in the French Neoclassical style, with square tapered ormolu legs connected by an unusually shaped stretcher bar. In the centre, there is a basket with a pierced rim. The apron of the table is crafted from patinated bronze and features further gilt bronze bronze mounts, including rosettes and foliate detailing. The rectangular table top is made from Italian marble, with a black marble base inlaid with a chessboard pattern of different coloured polychrome marble specimens.
