Description
Stunning vintage Mid Century Modern Broyhill Brasilia walnut dining table, circa early 1960s. Designed by famous Brazilian designer/architect Oscar Niemeyer for Broyhill in the style of Danish Modernism. Eames era Mid Century Modern retro furniture. This absolute jewel remains in nearly pristine condition throughout. The Brasilia line is a collection that was first presented at the world’s fair in Seattle in 1962, as a tribute to the design of Brazilian famed architect Oscar Niemeyer. One of the most celebrated and highly collectible lines in the American atomic era of design. Features circular/oval top, with three conforming leaf insertions, fully refinished top, raised over signature sculpted base with distinctive swooping curves, constructed of warm walnut grain with a simple and elegant design. The frame easily expands open to receive three original 12″ leaves allowing the table to extend to a full (80 1/8″) exquisitely constructed. This is a wonderful table that offers three large leaves changing it from a medium size table to a large table, making this a versatile piece indeed, built to last the test of time.
