This large, early and rare Osvaldo Borsani walnut Italian cocktail table is comprised of a thick circular clear glass top supported by three, thick dimensional rectangular panels connected by an undulating deeply hand carved stretcher.
Osvaldo Borsani, one of the most renowned Italian designers and architects, joined his father's furniture company along with his twin brother. Early pieces from the furniture shop exemplified the Art Deco style which catered to an upscale market and is evidenced by the use of quality materials and exquisite designs. In the 1950s in keeping with modernization, Osvaldo and his twin brother, Fulgenzio, renamed the company Tecno, which sought to incorporate more modern designs and materials which lent itself to mass production and a more commercial market.
This rich and elegant cocktail table beautifully crafted in the 1940s, adds a layer of history to any room and works well with traditional, modern and contemporary interiors.
