Pair Figured Maple Federal Tilt Tables
-
Description
A pair of Federal tilt top candle stands is uncommon; a pair of figured maple spider leg tables in exceptional condition that has remained together for over 200 years is even more desirable. These are very sculptural tables created with beautifully figured maple; the baluster are finely proportioned; the spider legs do not exhibit any damage and remain tightly attached to the balusters. The catch hardware is original and functional; one catch is slightly loose. The surface appears to be original (if not, it is old) and exhibits normal signs of wear with minor nicks and abrasions in a few areas. One table is slightly lower than the other at 24.5 inches in height.
