Pair of Italian Faux Marble Consoles
-
Description
Pair of mesmerizing 19th century Italian painted and giltwood console tables in the rococo style with faux marble tops. Expertly painted, the trompe l’oeil surface captures the exuberant vein patterns of bookmatched onyx or marble, rendered in translucent gold to amber hues with ribbons of white, finished on the edge in a jade green. Below, the swelled apron of the table frame is ornately carved in typical acanthus leaves and fan motif, bathed in gold for a lovely contrast to the dark taupe paint. Elegant cabriole legs echo the serpentine profile for a complete look. Recently cleaned, tightened and restored, please view the detailed images. Sold as a pair.
