Description
Pair of red marble pedestals in the Neoclassical style
French, 19th Century
Height 108cm, width 33cm, depth 33cm
Crafted in France during the 19th century, this refined pair of pedestals are ideal for the display of precious objects or works of fine art.
The pedestals are crafted in a Neoclassical style, reminiscent of the elegant Doric order columns that were a hallmark of ancient architecture and design. Of a rectilinear shape, the squared tops surmount a tapering shaft. The pedestals are rendered from an unusual, deep red marble, which is covered with delicate black and white veining.
The pedestals sit on top of black square platform bases, made from a resin compound.
Impressive works of marble sculpture in their own right, this pair would be sure to add an elegant pop of colour to the appropriate interior space. -
