Mid-Century Modern large-scale, pentagon-shaped coffee table designed by Americans Paul Tuttle and Winsor White, circa 1960. This table was a limited edition production piece produced by Baker furniture. This design was showcased in the London home of contemporary designer Marc Newson and his stylist wife, Charlotte Stockdale. And also appears in a short film on the website: Nowness. Measures: 40.5” diameter x 16” high.
Baker furniture produced some of the most premium and progressive American modern furniture of the 20th century. The company was early to embrace the modern movement, during the 1920s and 1930s they worked with prominent architects and designers to produce some of the most desirable high-end furniture available.
In the late 1940s and 1950s, Baker furniture collaborated with Paul Tuttle and other avant-garde designers to produce design collections referencing influences ranging from the Far East to Italian Neoclassism. -
