Description
A stamped French Louis XV style small walnut slant-front desk with sliding inlaid panels, long drawer and inner compartments from the early 19th century. This petite French desk was born during the Napoleonic years, yet decorated with the curvy lines of the Louis XV era. The slant front is adorned with inlaid panels that slide to reveal an exquisite interior. A removable oval mirror is flanked with petite drawers and topped with a pen compartment. The writing area is fitted with leather, while the apron receives a long drawer perfect to contain various documents. The back of the drawer shows the maker's stamp. The ensemble is raised on four elegant cabriole legs, so stylish during the reign of The Beloved (Louis XV). With its lovely Silhouette, discreet décor and perfect organization, this French walnut veneered desk, circa 1810 will be a charming addition to any décor.
