Bronze Coffee Table by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne
-
Description
Father and son Philip and Kelvin LaVerne achieved their detailed table designs by acid-etching bronze, adding pewter and enamel, then burying their work in a propriety formula of earth to achieve a lustrous patina. Etched on the scalloped oval top of this rarely found coffee table are biblical scenes, including the expulsion from the garden and Moses receiving the Ten Commandments. The legs take the form of four rods bundled with French ribbon. The table is signed Philip & Kelvin LaVerne.
