A demountable, large teak desk with a shelving unit from the Chandigarh High Court, by Pierre Jeanneret. The measurements stated are of the desk.
The storage unit is 43.5 by 185 cm and is 57.5 cm high.
In 1950 the world renowned architect Le Corbusier was asked to design the capital of the states of Haryana and Punjab in the newly independent India. Le Corbusier designed the master plan and a number of buildings. Pierre Jeanneret, his cousin, served as the site architect and was responsible for all the furniture. Jeanneret also designed several buildings for the city and the furniture for many projects, including the High Court. -
