Description
Probably New London County, Connecticut, ca. 1750-1780.
Cherry.
Great condition, retaining original brass. Drop finials and one knee return replaced.
Provenance: Israel Sack, New York, (label inside top drawer), April 23, 1931.
Christie’s, New York, Oct. 5, 2000, lot 76.
This fine and well-proportioned lowboy has a molded top over one long and three smaller drawers, the center deeply carved with a lobed shell, supported by graceful cabriole legs ending on pad feet. -
