Swedish 1880s Painted Wood Guéridon Table with Oval Top and Pedestal Base
-
Description
A Swedish painted wood guéridon side table from the late 19th century, with oval top, turned pedestal, quadripartite scrolling base, low finial and distressed patina. Created in Sweden during the last quarter of the 19th century, this painted guéridon table features a simple yet elegant oval top with carved edges, sitting above a turned pedestal. The ensemble is raised on four scrolling legs surrounding a lower turned inverted finial. The table is painted in a soft color with nicely distressed patina, typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark winters of Scandinavia. With its elegant lines, small proportions and weathered appearance, this Swedish painted wood guéridon side table circa 1880 will make for a lovely addition to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway!
