A Swedish painted wood console table from the late 19th century, with three drawers, brass hardware, tapered legs and spade feet. Created in Sweden during the last decade of the 19th century, this elegant painted console table features a simple rectangular top sitting above three dovetailed drawer. Each fitted with a brass bail handle on circular backplate, two small drawers flank a longer central one. Raised on four slander tapering legs resting on large spade feet, the console table is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, aiming at brightening the rooms during the long dark winters. With its clean lines and light colored finish, this Swedish painted wood three-drawer console table circa 1890 will bring a touch of classical elegance to any home, perhaps placed in a foyer, hallway or living room where it could also be used as a sofa table.
