SWEDISH GRACE 1920'S ROSEWOOD MARQUETRY TABLE WITH GILT DETAILS
-
Description
A remarkable “Swedish Grace” 1920’s rosewood and marquetry round table. The table features an elaborate yet refined display of craftsmanship with a portrait of a young woman in profile using a variety of wood veneers. The portrait suggest a person from the ancient world, possibly Mesopotamia in style. The table's urn shaped column has raised carved details accented with gold leaf. Just below is a plinth which is decorated with flora marquetry. The octagon base is raised on four hand carved feet which have a faux rosewood finish. Most likely a custom piece made by a master's workshop.
