Created circa 1940, this "Ludo Hexagone" bracelet watch by Van Cleef & Arpels is composed of 18K gold and diamonds. The bracelet of ultra-flexible meshlike hexagonal links à ruche and star-set with round-cut diamonds centers a domed "à pont" motif pavé-set with round-cut diamonds that opens to reveal a goldtone dial with abstract numeral indicators and jeweled Swiss movement. The bracelet snaps smoothly and casually onto the wrist with one hand. With its high flexibility and give, this stylish watch expresses the era's gift for combining dramatic, sweeping lines with industrial precision through extraordinary artisanship.
